McCroan’s Land & Tree Service, LLC removed several longleaf pines and resin-coated stumps from a property in Melrose, Florida, to prepare the site for new home construction.
Instead of grinding out the stumps after the trees were removed, McCroan’s Land & Tree Service dug out the stumps.
New construction cannot be built on top of any organic matter. All roots, tree stumps, grass, and other organic matter must be completely removed.

Longleaf Pine
The longleaf pine is a beautiful and unique tree native to the southern United States.
What is resin?
Resin is tree sap.”Think of a pine tree that has a missing tree limb. What do you see? Sticky ‘sap’ flows from the tree, essentially making a bandage over the wound that hardens and eventually fossilizes into an incredibly hard substance called amber.”
Did you know the butt, or stump, of a tree contains abnormally high quantities of resin? Resin is sticky and makes removing trees and tree stumps especially difficult because resin builds up on the saw blade, or stump grinder teeth, making it really difficult to cut through.
